Overview

ACR/Artex (ACR Electronics, Inc.) is the leading development center for emergency beacons that are designed with one purpose in mind: Saving Lives. Through our combined technology expertise in the marine, aviation, outdoor, and military markets, we design and manufacture cutting edge rescue beacons and survival gear for boaters, pilots, hunters, hikers, and combat troops, not to mention many of the leading boat builders and aircraft manufacturers in the industry. The Senior Test Engineer will oversee the operation of the test laboratory including test policy/procedures, test execution, equipment maintenance, 5S practices, data archiving, and technician supervision as needed.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operation and scheduling of ACR’s environmental and RF test and simulation test lab.  The capabilities include environmental testing:    Humidity, Salt Fog ,  Temperature (static, shock, gradient),   Shock,   Vibration ,  Altitude, Fire, and submersion (IPxx) testing.
  • Perform product specific RF and functional testing as per published standards.    Perform far-field antenna measurements for antennas and products on outdoor test ranges.
  • Generate product test plans and compliance matrices as per the standards.
  • Interpret all test results for compliance and problem resolution.
  • Prepare all the environmental test reports and procedures for qualifying products per RTCA, RTCM, and MIL-STD guidelines. 
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all testing with external test facilities.   Manage the test schedules and review results of tests as they occur.   Be prepared to travel to the test facility (US, International) to supervise testing or address issues.
  • Assist in preparing certification packages to the FAA, FCC, and International bodies.
  • Responsible for meeting customer's test completion due dates and test report release due dates.
  • Track metrics on to speed the compliance of products to regulations.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement efficiencies and capability upgrades to the lab which will lead to faster product approval cycles.

Qualifications

Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:

  • BS/MS Engineering:   EE or ME, with a high degree of cross discipline.
  • SW competency:   Labview, 
  • Strong working knowledge of RF products and radio technology.
  • Circuit design in supporting of testing
  • Proficiency in harness design and build.
  • Troubleshooting skills in electronics.
  • High competency in problem solving methodology:  6 Sigma, Lean, 8D
  • Equipment Competency:  Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, general EE measurement techniques.  GNSS Simulations.  Antenna measurement.
  • Office Applications:  Very proficient in Excel, Marcos, Databases, Office applications
