    The Quality Engineer has responsibility to plan, coordinate, and direct the quality management system designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards and design requirements. There willl be a heavy emphasis on supplier quality improvement.

    Responsibilities

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with quality system through review and alignment of work instructions and departmental procedures. Statically analyze production yield and product rejection rate data, recommend/implement improvements to meet defined goals. Perform FEMA & PFEMA to develop and drive process improvement 
    • Formulate and maintain quality management system objectives and coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with operation managers and management to maximize product reliability and minimize costs 
    • Monitor inspection activity; develop inspection work instructions; train inspectors 
    • Analyze product and process failure rate (trend analysis)
    • Coordinate Non-conforming Material Review, chair Material Review Board for specific products. Ensure complete disposition on non-conforming product 
    • Perform root-cause analysis and develop corrective actions
    • Coordinate, schedule, and execute internal auditing program; write reports
    • Issue internal and supplier corrective action requests to process owners. Review, accept, and follow up to verify implementation of the response 
    • Respond to customer surveys and host customer/regulatory agency audits 
    • Prepare answers to customer requested correction action and feedback 
    • Host customer product source inspections
    • Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to production quality and reliability 
    • Other duties and tasks may be assigned

    Qualifications

    Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills: 

    • 3+ years' related experience and/or training 
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to read/follow drawings, diagrams, and schematics
    • Strong analytical skills

    Education/Certifications: 

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required

    Physical Working Environment:

     

    The position works in a climate controlled office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
