    ACR Electronics, Inc. is the leading development center for emergency beacons that are designed with one purpose in mind: Saving Lives.  Through our combined technology expertise in the marine, aviation, outdoor and military markets, we design and manufacture cutting edge rescue beacons and survival gear for boaters, pilots, hunters, hikers and combat troops, not to mention many of the leading boat builders and aircraft manufacturers in the industry.


    This position is primarily responsible for oversight of all finance and accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end closings and financial reporting. Working knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management and manufacturing processes is preferred. A successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to effectively work cross functionally and intensively with the multiple groups including CFO, Corporate Controllers & VPs, local accounting, operations and sales teams, and Treasury department.



    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


      • Oversee accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function; supervise and develop finance staff
      • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
      • Oversee all cost accounting functions and responsibilities, including annual cost rolls, cycle counts and operational reporting, inventory management
      • Engage with operation, new product development and quality teams to support business initiatives and conduct problem solving sessions
      • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting and oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements
      • Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns
      • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions
      • Assist in development of annual budgets, financial planning and analysis reports
      • Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements
      • Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation
      • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems
      • Serve as final point of escalation for Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable issues
      • Develop and manage accounting staff
      • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits
      • Remain up to date on audit best practices and state and federal law
      • Mentor and develop a direct team by managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
      • Oversee weekly cash management; Approve weekly payables; Execute check signing
      • Oversee AR management and provide support to collections activities
      • Prepare various analyses and reports required by corporate development efforts
      • Engage in M&A post close activities and integration of acquired companies
    • Lead, coordinate, and complete various special projects


    Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:

      • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting required, MBA a plus
      • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Controller
      • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office, strong excel skills (pivot tables, V-lookups, macros, etc), SQL, access, power point
      • Experience in manufacturing industry and cost accounting required
      • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus strong organization skills
      • Excellent systems skills; experience with various ERP systems and consolidation software, Hyperion
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills
      • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills
      • Experience in private sector and/or in private equity owned sector
      • Demonstrated ability to work under time pressure


    •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, and CPA and/or MBA in Finance preferred

    Physical Working Environment:


    This is an office position, in a climate controlled office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time.  Travel may be required from time to time to Drew Marine facilities throughout the company.
