  • Overview

    The Sales Analyst is responsible for the collection, analysis, and reporting of sales-related data to the Sales organization to understand trends, markets, customers and products, that help to increase sales and market share, and overall sales productivity. Analyst will create both standardized and custom reports, perform analysis of customer segments, products and sales performance activity, and work with the sales team to provide support for promotional campaigns and budgets. They will assist in the development of standardized tools, methodologies, metrics and various business processes for the purpose of refining operational efficiency. The Sales Analyst will play a critical role in the enhancement and improvement of top-line business understanding and decision-making.


    • Collect, analyze, evaluate, and report sales data to increase sales productivity
    • Use sales data for identification and evaluation of sales performance with consideration towards sales targets
    • Provide sales direction regarding sales patterns, trends, and future purchases to drive business decisions
    • Use previous sales data and market trends to develop forecasts and projections. In this  aspect of the role, sales analysts may develop reports showing expected sales and the potential effects of new strategies to aid in decision-making
    • Work with sales team to incorporate sales forecasts into daily/weekly/monthly reports
    • Monitor sales demand; extract and reduce sales data into dashboard report structure
    • Be a key contributor of analysis/insights on Sales demand to the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning process meetings
    • Communicate sales reporting and forecasting to Management
    • Manage sales data detail to insure accurate commission allocation
    • Generate ad hoc reporting for Sales, and related need-to-know functions such as Marketing, Finance, and Product Management
    • Participate in Contract Management process, conducting price analysis and assessment of profitability of the sales offering to a Customer
    • Make recommendations to Sales process improvements or other related areas.


    • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience as an analyst or similar position or MBA considered
    • Familiarity with conducting sales analysis and forecasting with Sales organization
    • The ability to assess data sets and identify patterns and opportunities for improvement
    • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Detail oriented with strength in high-level data analysis
    • Experience with use of data warehouse/databases such as Oracle, MS SQL or other
    • Advanced knowledge of Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) with expert knowledge of Excel
    • Comfortable in a changing business environment and one with a global presence
    • Good group presentation skills and ability to convey complex information to a broad audience
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
    • Enjoys working independently as well as within a team environment
    • Ability to coordinate and manage simultaneous data analysis requests

    The support for the Global Sales organization is conducted centrally from our New Jersey headquarters. Travel is limited.
